Siraj’s cricket journey began in November 2015 when he made his first-class debut for Hyderabad in the Ranji Trophy. He then played his first Twenty20 match in January 2016 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In February 2017, he was acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad for the Indian Premier League (IPL). Later, in January 2018, he was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore. His performance in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy, where he was the highest wicket-taker for Hyderabad, showcased his potential. Siraj continued to impress, leading the wicket-takers in the 2017–18 Vijay Hazare Trophy and earning selections for India A and India B squads in various tournaments.
